Need Chiropractic Care? Check Your Posture

When your posture is out of alignment that’s a sign you need chiropractic care.  Many people are used to seeing a chiropractor when they get low back pain, neck and headaches.  However, often times those symptoms appear after your posture changes for the worse.  Posture misalignments create stress and tension on your joints, muscles, nerves, and brain before you get pain or other health issues.  Find out how to check for these posture misalignments on yourself and your family and go get them corrected by your chiropractor. 

When your head and body is out of alignment that’s a good sign at least one of the bones in your spine is out of alignment.  When the bones in your spine are out of alignment (subluxation), the nerve messages into and out of your brain get messed up.  (1) When your brain and nervous system gets messed up so do you.  Maybe you get brain fog and can’t focus or concentrate well?  Maybe you get tired easily and lack the energy to be productive?  Maybe you get headaches or migraines?  Maybe low back pain or neck and shoulder pain?  Maybe you struggle with gut problems like heartburn or irritable bowel syndrome?  Whatever health problems you have, posture misalignments and poor brain function could be at the root cause.  

Here are four posture checks you can do on yourself and family members to determine if you are out of alignment.  You can do the following checks sitting and standing.  Look in the mirror or get a family member to look at you from behind.

Head Tilt and Shoulder Height

Look at the bottom of your ear lobes as a reference point.  Does the right or left side of your head look higher up or tilted?  Does your right or left shoulder look higher up?  Or does one of your shoulders droop down?

 

Pelvis or Hip Unleveling

Look at your hips or get someone to lay their hands on top of your pelvic bones.  Does one side look higher or lower?  Do your pants hang down lower on one side?

Forward head posture

Get someone to look at you from the side or get them to take a picture of you.  Look at the middle of your ear as a reference point.  If your ear is drawn forward in front of your shoulders that’s a sign you have forward head posture.

If you have one or more of the above checks that is “out of alignment” there’s a good chance you need chiropractic care to help improve your posture and straighten you out.  

By improving your posture and alignment, chiropractic adjustments help improve your brain and nerve function.  A healthy brain means you can heal better, function better, and cope better with the large number of stressors in our modern day world.

Poor posture leads to poor brain and nerve function, which leads to declining health.
