Natural Pain Relief
Natural pain relief means using treatments and lifestyle strategies that tend to stimulate your body’s inborn healing mechanisms to heal your body itself in order to lessen or get rid of your pain.
Examples of treatments and lifestyle strategies that are effective in relieving pain naturally are chiropractic care, acupuncture, massage therapy, naturopathy, functional medicine, exercising and movement, eating healthy, nutritional supplements, and stress management.
Treatments that provide natural pain relief treat the underlying cause
Most times, treating the underlying cause of your pain makes more sense than covering your pain up with medicine like tylenol or ibuprofen. For example, many headaches are caused by misaligned bones of the spine near the base of the skull. As a result, these misalignments irritate the nerves that travel into the head and cause headaches. In these cases, it would make more sense to get chiropractic adjustments to treat the misaligned bones and nerve tension, which is the underlying cause of these headaches, rather than covering up the symptom with tylenol.
When you correct the underlying cause of your pain, you are more likely to get pain relief and regain your health.
Treatments that provide natural pain relief tend to be more safe and more effective than drugs
In general, natural treatments tend to be safe because they stimulate the body to heal itself. In other words, the body being able to heal itself is a safe and natural process that supports the function and life of the person.
On the other hand, drugs, on the whole, aren’t as safe as natural treatments. Whereas, natural treatments support the natural function of the body, drugs aren’t compatible with the natural chemistry of the body. Therefore, many drugs can be toxic and have many side effects.
Although drugs are needed in cases of acute trauma, acute infections, or end of life care, they fail to address the underlying cause of most health problems which are largely chronic in nature. For example, pain medications like tylenol, ibuprofen, and aspirin can help mask your pain, but fail to solve the underlying cause of your pain.
The following posts explain how you can get natural pain relief and start to live pain free, with more strength, energy, and focus.
