How Chiropractic Knee Pain Treatment Helps Edmonton Patients
Effective knee pain treatment involves more than simply looking at where it hurts. Your hips, knees, ankles, and feet work together whenever you walk, run, squat, or climb stairs. A problem in one area can sometimes change how forces are transferred through the knee.
Our approach includes:
- Comprehensive assessment and diagnosis
- Personalized treatment plan
- Gentle joint adjustments (hip, knee, pelvis, and spine)
- Assessment of the hips, knees, ankles, and feet
- Soft tissue therapy
- Mobility and flexibility work
- Movement and posture correction
- Strengthening and rehabilitation exercises
- Lifestyle and activity guidance
Treatment is tailored to your individual needs and examination findings. The goal is to reduce pain, improve function, and help you return to the activities that are important to you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Chiropractors can assess and treat many musculoskeletal causes of knee pain. Treatment depends on what is causing your symptoms and may include joint mobilization or adjustment, soft tissue therapy, exercises, and recommendations to improve strength, mobility, and movement.
A thorough examination is important because knee pain can have many different causes, and not every knee problem should be treated in the same way.
Knee pain with walking or stairs can have several possible causes. Common examples include patellofemoral pain, arthritis, tendon problems, meniscus irritation, previous injuries, and muscle weakness or imbalance.
How your spine, hips, ankles, and feet are functioning may also affect the forces travelling through your knee. An examination can help determine which factors are most relevant in your case.
No. Although the knee itself is carefully examined, it doesn’t function in isolation.
Depending on your symptoms, we may also assess your hips, ankles, feet, lower back, muscle strength, flexibility, and movement patterns. This helps us look for other factors that may be contributing to your knee pain rather than focusing only on the painful area.
This depends on the cause and severity of your knee pain, how long you’ve had it, your examination findings, and your goals.
Some patients improve relatively quickly, while longstanding or more complicated problems may require a longer period of care. Your recommended treatment plan will be based on your individual findings and progress.
Not everyone with knee pain requires imaging. Your history and examination help determine whether an X-ray, ultrasound, MRI, or another assessment may be appropriate.
If your findings suggest that further investigation or referral is needed, we’ll discuss that with you.
We provide direct billing for most insurance plans. If direct billing is not available, you can submit your receipt to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
Please provide your insurance information before your appointment if you’d like us to direct bill.
